Abstract

Miana leaves (Coleus scutellarioides (L.) Benth.) contains saponins, flavonoids, alkaloids, essential oils, phenolics, phytosterols, which have antioxidant and antibacterial properties. This study aims to make lotion preparations with ethanol extract of miana leaves with concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15%, and to determine the physical quality of lotions with ethanol extract of miana leaves (Coleus scutellarioides (L.) Benth.). This research is an experimental laboratory research to make lotion preparations of ethanol extract of miana leaves. The results of the physical quality test showed that the lotio ethanol extract of miana leaves (Coleus scutellarioides (L.) Benth.), which was an organoleptic test, obtained lotio results with concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15% having a distinctive odor, brownish green color and semi-solid form. pH test obtained lotio results with a concentration of 5% ie 4.8, 10% ie 4.3, and 15% i.e. 4.2, homogeneity test obtained lotio results with a concentration of 5%, 10% 15% ie not homogeneous, and power test spread obtained lotio results with a concentration of 5% ie 8.5, 10% ie 7.6, and 15% ie 9.5. So it can be concluded that the lotio preparation of ethanol extract of miana leaves has met the requirements of SNI with parameter tests, namely organoleptic test, pH test, dispersion test, while for homogeneity test it does not meet the requirements.
