Kesambi leaf contain secondary metabolites in the form of alkaloids, tannins and flavonoids. The purpose of this study was to determine what alkaloid compounds contained in the chloroform fraction of kesambi leaves (Schleichera oleosa L.) by UV-Vis and Infrared Spectrophotometry. (IR). The research design used was an experimental laboratory carried out at the Pharmacognosy-Phytochemical Laboratory, Pancasakti University Makassar and the Integrated Chemistry Laboratory, Hasanuddin University. The results of the study were carried out by the extraction method. Dry extracts of methanol and chloroform were identified by color test with Mayer and Dragendroff reagents which produced brown and brick red precipitates indicating the presence of alkaloids. Analyzed by thin layer chromatography (TLC) with various ratios of developers. Isolation using two-dimensional TLC obtained the second isolate containing a single stain and then analyzed by UV spectrophotometry at 242 nm wavelength with 498.0 and IR spectrophotometry obtained wave numbers and several groups, namely 3454.51 cm-1 amine (N-H), (C-H), 1641.42 cm-1 aromatics (C=C), 1097.50 cm-1 amines (C-N), and 806.25 cm-1 aromatics (=CH), the data obtained showed that the pure compound isolated is an alkaloid compound
