his study explores the dynamics of emotion and collective identity in the song Mosi Tidak Percaya by Efek Rumah Kaca, analyzed through the lens of literary psychology using Carl Jung’s psychoanalytic approach. The research focuses on how emotional expression and collective identity are constructed through symbolic elements in the song’s lyrics and how these are interpreted and internalized by both the band and its fan community, Penerka Makassar. Composed of members from various social backgrounds, this community engages with the song not only as listeners but as active participants in meaning-making and identity formation. Using qualitative methods—textual analysis, participant observation, and in-depth interviews—this study investigates how the archetypal symbols and collective unconscious reflected in the lyrics resonate with the lived experiences of the audience. The findings show that Mosi Tidak Percaya functions as a symbolic vessel for the projection of shared emotions such as anger, disillusionment, and hope, becoming a site for collective catharsis and resistance. From a Jungian perspective, the song activates archetypes related to the shadow, the self, and the collective persona, offering a space for the negotiation of personal and collective identities. Within the Penerka Makassar community, the song is interpreted as a mirror of urban youth anxiety and a tool for building emotional solidarity, social critique, and cultural resistance. This study affirms the role of music as an affective-symbolic medium that fosters emotional awareness and collective identity through shared aesthetic experiences rooted in the collective unconscious.
