Abstract

The rapid development of information technology requires the readiness of human resources with adequate digital literacy and a fundamental understanding of technology, particularly operating systems. Operating systems are a core component of information technology that play a crucial role in managing hardware and software resources and serve as a foundation for various professions in the IT field. This community service activity aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of basic operating system concepts and their relevance to future IT career opportunities. The activity was conducted in the form of a webinar entitled “Exploring Operating Systems for Future IT Careers”, held on December 3, 2025, via the Google Meet platform and attended by 32 participants. The evaluation method employed a pre-test and post-test design to measure participants’ understanding before and after the activity. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ average scores, increasing from 64.375 in the pre-test to 83.125 in the post-test. These findings indicate that a well-structured and relevant educational webinar is effective in improving digital literacy and raising awareness of the importance of mastering operating systems as a fundamental competency in preparing for careers in information technology. This activity is expected to contribute to the development of digitally competent human resources capable of facing the challenges of the digital transformation era.
