Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has positioned operating systems (OS) as a fundamental component of digital device usage. However, ease of use in modern operating systems is not always accompanied by sufficient digital literacy and cybersecurity awareness. This community service activity aims to enhance participants’ understanding of modern operating system functions and encourage safe and responsible OS usage. The activity was conducted through an online webinar targeting university students and senior high school students. A quantitative evaluation using pre-test and post-test methods was employed. The results showed an average increase in participants’ understanding of 13.59%, from 73.08% in the pre-test to 86.67% in the post-test. The most significant improvement occurred in the operating system security aspect, with an increase of 28.5%. These findings indicate that webinar-based education is effective in improving digital literacy, particularly in operating system security awareness.
